Mocha!

Something happened this morning, something I try to prevent from happening at all costs.  I ran out of my delicious International Delight Vanilla Caramel Cream.  Dramatic, I know, but on a Saturday this is quite disappointing.  There is nothing better than sitting in bed enjoying my coffee on these weekend mornings, but with only a splash of milk, quite unfulfilling.  I decided to improvise.  Homemade Mocha!  Easiest thing to make if you have sugar and some unsweetened cocoa powder and coffee, of course.  After realizing the simplicity of this delicious coffee drink, I'm disappointed to think how many times I've paid nearly four dollars for this same drink at the coffee shop.  I often equate wasted money to pedicures.  Let's just say for the money I've spent on "gourmet" coffees, I could have had several, and I mean several pedicures!  You live, you learn, I guess.

Now, for the recipe, get ready, you might want to grab pencil and paper, not.  Simply add 2 tablespoons each of sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder to your morning cup of coffee along with a splash of milk.  Personally I would have preferred half-and-half, but this morning that wasn't an option.  Nonetheless, it was delicious.  If you like it a little less sweet, go with 1 tablespoon of the sugar and cocoa powder.

Is this something I'm going to get into the habit of drinking every day?  No.  For the sake of my waist line, that's probably not really a good idea.  But, on this weekend morning when I NEED a moment, I think it's perfect.
